Your Customers. Your InfraStructure. Your Revenue.

Easily add automatic off-site backup to your service offering with CrashPlan PROServer. Because it's a purchased product and not a service, you can leverage your existing infrastructure and maximize profits.

Why offer off-site backup service?

It's the best solution for your customers. Only off-site backup protects against all forms of data loss and customers need their data with someone they know and trust. Offering disaster recovery services is a natural extension to your already established service provider relationship and is extremely efficient to offer.

Your customers need you

Customers desire a high quality of service and minimal delays for full data recovery. Due to the proximity of your customer, you are in a unique position to restore and backup data much faster than other online backup providers. What would take weeks over the internet can be done in a matter of minutes or hours.

PRO support

We support you, you support your customers. In order to better support you, we built remote support into PROServer. When you need help, we can be virtually on-site in seconds. Of course, remote access is off by default and can only be enabled by you.

What are my costs?

There are a lot of variables but a good number to use in your spreadsheets is $2.50/month per computer. This includes software licensing, hardware, power, cooling, and support. This assumes 10GB of compressed data per computer.

How much should you charge?

For consumers we've seen everything from $0 (extending service offering to keep customers) to $20 / month for unlimitted backup. Businesses are a bit trickier, as it depends on level of service you are offering and quality of hardware. A good starting point is $.50-$2 per GB per month depending on total data usage. Double that if you're storing it in two locations.

Additional savings for ISPs

In addition to increasing customer retention, offering your own backup service reduces border bandwidth. As your customers explore backing up online, they're moving greater amounts of data through your borders and that's expensive. Every business database change, every family movie, costs you money. By offering a backup destination within your facilities, you save bandwidth while improving the quality of service for your customers. Everyone wins.
