How much does PROServer Cost?
PROServer itself is free. The desktop agents vary in price from $50 - $70 per seat depending on quantity and includes 1 year of support and upgrades. Additional years of support & upgrades are $12 per seat per year. The average cost per seat over a three year period including upgrades and support is $25-31 per year (or $2-3 per month) depending on quantity. Because PROServer licensing is free, you can run as many PROServers in as many locations as needed to provide service to your company or customers. The same license seat can be used in each of the servers.
How does licensing work?
There are three types of licenses:
- Master license. This identifies your company and all other licenses are associated with your master license. You should keep this safe.
- Seat license. These grant permission to allow 5 or more computers to backup to PROServer. They are purchased in our store. The seat license will only work in any PROServer that has your master license.
- Support license. After 1 year, if you wish continued upgrades and support, you can purchase support licenses which are also in our store.
How much does it cost to get started?
PROServer is free to run for 30 days. After 30 days, you will need to purchase a desktop agent license for the number of computers you wish to continue backing up. The minimum license size is 5 computers, currently priced at $332. So the minimum investment to get started is $332 + cost of your hardware.
Is it ok to give out my master license?
No. Your license entitles your company to backup computers to your facilities. If the master license is used at another company, that company is in violation of our user license agreement.
What happens when my support licenses expire?
The product will continue to function without incident except that upgrades may no longer be applied. If you request support from us and are not up to date with your licenses, we'll remind you of this inconvenient reality and humbly ask that you become current before we service your request.
