Frequently Asked Questions About Our Online Backup Pricing:

What if I’m an international customer? Am I charged in US Dollars?

Enterprise customers can be charged in a variety of local currencies. Please contact sales for more information.

Customers of CrashPlan for Small Business located in Australia or New Zealand will be charged A$16.49 per device each month, which includes GST (without GST, A$14.99 /device/month). Customers everywhere else will see charges of US$9.99/device/month plus applicable taxes and fees.

How many computers can I protect under CrashPlan’s pricing model?

CrashPlan for Small Business protects as many computers as you have in your business and is entirely self-service. Adding computers is easily done through the built-in dashboard and you can add or remove them at any time and be charged on a monthly basis.

Customers with more than 100 devices will want to take advantage of the features and pricing model of CrashPlan for Enterprise. If you have specific questions about CrashPlan for Enterprise pricing, please reach out to our sales team.

Can I add or remove computers?

Yes! You can add or remove as many computers as you like whenever you want with either CrashPlan for Small Business or CrashPlan for Enterprise.

For CrashPlan for Small Business customers, each new computer is an additional US$9.99/month (plus tax/fees) and your billing rate is automatically adjusted to accommodate the additional computers.

CrashPlan for Enterprise customers purchase a set number of user licenses for the deployment which can be expanded if needed in conversation with your customer success manager.

What are the retention periods for files and how many versions do you keep?

You can control what files are protected, when, and how often. CrashPlan backs up your most recent files first, then makes sure you have a full backup at one destination as soon as possible.

What happens if your file becomes corrupt? Or you want to return to an earlier version? No problem; you can restore to a specified date and time in a few clicks.

Are there any file type or file size restrictions?

We don’t set any file size limits. There are a few files in certain system folders CrashPlan doesn’t protect. More information about those is available in our support documentation.

Can I use CrashPlan with data that falls under HIPAA?

Yes! CrashPlan users who need to be HIPAA compliant should contact our Support Agents to obtain a Business Associate Agreement (BAA). This combined with our default AES-256 encryption allows you to check one more thing off that HIPAA compliance list.
